Expansion beads (or movement beads as they are commonly known) are positioned on the spot of movement joints of insulated structure so that ETICS contains controlled movement joints without integrity damage of the system (prevention of cracks). Movement joint enables mutual movement of the connected surfaces while keeping the system watertight. Beads are positioned into the base coat after installation of the insulation material.
